Criminal Law Experience

*  Scott has been a a deputy district attorney for 11 years and is assigned to the Major Violators Unit

*  Scott's job as a prosecutor is to look at all sides of every case to insure justice for all Reno citizens 

*  Scott largely dismantled a criminal gang in a three year murder prosecution
 
*  Scott helped rid a local park of drug dealers by assisting in the months long investigation and leading the prosecution with Federal and local law enforcement

*  Scott has obtained judgments for millions of dollars in restitution for local citizens and businesses

*  For the past eleven years Scott's opponent has been  a municipal court public defender where his job is to advocate only for one side, the criminal defendants  

Judicial Branch Experience

*  Scott worked for Washoe County's District Court in 1996, 1998 and 1999 reviewing civil cases, capital cases and appeals of Reno Justice Court decisions as an extern and then law clerk for Judge Janet Berry

*  Scott has spent more time working for a court helping decide cases than his opponent

*  Scott reviewed over one hundred civil cases for Washoe County's District Court as an extern and law clerk in 1996, 1998 and 1999

*  Scott has never received an ethics complaint from the State Bar and Scott is the only candidate who has not been found to have committed five seperate violations by the Nevada Committee on Judicial Ethic.  Scott's opponent has said the opinions of the Ethics Committee "mean nothing".
